"If something isn't aesthetically pleasing or interesting, doesn't require skills I do not have, and makes a stupid point stupidly, I don't appreciate it as art. That doesn't make me a philistine. It makes me a non-rube."

The One with Simple Genius

40. Title & Author: Simple Genius by David Baldacci (548 pages)*
Genre: Fiction--Thriller
Completed: 12 June 2008

Summary & Review:
Partners Sean King and Michelle Maxwell head to a research facility called Babbage Town, located directly across the river from the CIA's infamous Camp Peary, a.k.a. The Farm, to investigate the death of one of Babbage Town's top scientists. Soon they realize there is a major conspiracy occurring that involves the CIA and top government officials.

This is the second book I have read by Baldacci, and it wasn't quite as good as The Collectors. The story was well paced and it hooks the reader pretty well. Near the end of the book though, Baldacci really shows his liberal political views which kind of took away from my enjoyment of the book. Like I need to bombarded with that in a thriller. The weakest part of the book was the ending: after the climax the book just kept going and I felt like it was wrapped up five or six times.
